Program Description:
Thank you for your interest in the LBC Cosmetology program! We are so excited to get you on your way to a new and exciting career! There are so many amazing opportunities in this industry, and so many ways to express your inner artist! Cosmetology students will enjoy learning several techniques and skills that you will use as you embark on your new career upon graduation of the program. In our program here at LBC, you will learn all the basic foundations of cutting, styling, coloring, waxing, nails, skincare, and much more. In addition, we will offer all of our students specialized training to learn the latest trends, techniques and procedures, so that you will be salon ready upon graduation! As an educator in this field, I find it so important to also introduce skills of communication, teamwork, problem-solving, employability skills, and business managmement skills that will be so important as you venture out into the workforce.
The Linton Beauty College was birthed over 5 decades ago, stemming from a dream to give back, a passion to help others, and a desire to make the world even more beautiful. My grandparents, my aunt and my mother, Kathy, instructed students in our area at LBC, and offered students an opportunity to make careers of their own—to make their own dreams come true. This dream now continues with me, a third generation of intructors in my family. I’m so proud to say that my mother Kathy is joining me on this mission and teaching alongside of me. Our goal? To bring this opportunity back to our area in Linton, Indiana. To give students an opportunity to create a future for themselves that is limitless, unique and artistic. Here at LBC, we value our students. We strive to present a fun and exciting learning experience, and we commit our very best to each student we enroll. Our mission is to help our students realize their own potential and talents, and to prepare them for successful futures!
Program information:
The cosmetology program is a total of 1500 program hours. Students can enroll as a junior or senior in high school. Students that enroll as a junior can complete all hours of the program during their time in high school, as long as they attend summer hours. Summers begin the first Monday of June.
Students must complete all state licensing requirements to include hours, testing/theory hours and practical skills testing. All practical testing and theory testing will be completed during the course at Linton Beauty College, and upon completion of all program requirements, students will test for the State Board for their licensing exam on location.
Books, Kit, and Uniforms!
Student kits are $600. This fee includes their student tool kit (all the items, mannequins, etc that they will need for their program/training)
WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP?
Student interviews will need to be booked with LBC during the months of March and April. Students will need to interview to be considered for the program.
